A Little About Our Classes

Tap- Is a style of dance requiring special shoes that have 2 metal taps on each; one on the toe and one of the heel. This is a rhythmic form of dance where all the rhythm is made with your feet. The little ones like this style because they are the shoes that make the noise!Class Time- 45 minutes

Jazz- We teach a combination of stylized jazz and street jazz or Hip Hop. Depending on the class level and music selection, classes may vary. We like to keep our music library updated with the top 40 so the dancers know the music they are dancing to. Class time- 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on level

Ballet- This is a very disciplined form of dance. Stressing the importance of pulling up and turning out as well as gracefulness is what Ballet is all about. We teach French ballet, which is a form that has softer lines than Russian Ballet and is more enjoyable by the students. Class Time- 45 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes depending on level

Pointe- This form of dance is for advanced Ballet students only. This is where the dancers, using special shoes, dance up on their toes. It is Courtney's discretion as to who goes up on pointe!

Lyrical- This is an interpretive form of dance. The dancer takes a particular piece of music and interprets what the music is saying. This form moves slower than jazz, but is not as disciplined as ballet. Moves performed in this style of dance can be done either "turned out" or "parallel" unlike ballet that is strictly turned out. Class Time- 45 minutes

Acrobatics- This is the only style of dance with an age restriction. Students must be at least 5 for this style of dance. This form of dance includes tumbling and gymnastics moves similar to a floor routine in gymnastics. Spotting mats are used during class for the dancers' protection. Class Time- 45 minutes to 1 hour

Combination Classes- These classes are designed with our little dancers in mind! This class Combines Tap and Ballet in one class. We have found that changing the dancers' forcus half way through, allows the instructors to keep the attention of the little dancers longer! This class is designed for 2 1/2-5 year olds!
Class Time- 1 hour

The only dress code that our studio has is that we require dance clothes and the correct shoes to be worn in all classes. No street clothes or shoes will be allowed in class. All hair, shoulder length or longer, must be pulled up in all classes.

Solo, Duet and Trio classes are available at the discretion of Courtney
